What can I find on this platform?
On this platform you can find all courses, and course downloads related to Data Vault Certifications. This includes CDVP2 (Certified Data Vault Practitioner 2.1) and other certification courses. Each course contains downloads that are available only while you are logged in, and granted access to the courses. Most certification courses grant access for 180 days from the time of enrollment. Your enrollment only happens after you are registered for a certification course by an Authorized Training Organization, or DataVaultAlliance Holdings LLC. When you are enrolled, you will receive welcome emails about your account, along with access credentials. These credentials are only for this platform.
How do I access my courses?
Click the account icon in the menu bar, OR drop the menu down and click My Courses. Either way, you are redirected after login to a list of courses you have access to. IF access to the courses has expired, and your account is still active, THEN you can see a list of courses and quiz results you had accumulated in the past. However, you can no longer access the lessons or retake the quizzes.
Can I change my EMAIL address somewhere?
Yes, after logging in, you can edit your profile, and update your email address. This will also update your email address in our CRM, and it will notify your group leader of your email change. Why? because your group leader maintains your registration to your final certification exam, which requires the email addresses to match between the certification exam and your current student account.
Trouble with Password Reset… How do I get Password Reset to work?
If you have reset your password – please wait 5 minutes for the email to arrive in your inbox. While the reset password email is sent immediately on request, most email delivery systems have what’s called: lazy delivery (late-arriving synchronization), which happens anywhere between every 5 to every 20 minutes. Some are immediate, but that’s getting more rare by the day. Next read the next topic here: I’m not receiving any emails, what do I do?
Then, after finding your password reset email, click the link that is embedded. NOTE: the link IN a password reset email has a 24 hour expiration (approximately) – this cannot be changed, and will expire for security reasons about 24 hours after it was requested (not received, but requested).
I’m not receiving any emails, what do I do?
If you are not receiving emails from us (including password reset, or welcome emails), then there might be a couple things you need to check or do.
- Make sure your corporate firewall accepts email from our domain: DVAUNIVERSITY.com
- Look in your SPAM folder for mail FROM: DanL@Mail.DVAUniversity.com
- Look in your TRASH folder for mail FROM: DanL@Mail.DVAUniversity.com
If your spam or trash folder are containing the emails from us, then your personal SPAM filters are too aggressive. The easiest fix is not to change the aggressive nature, but rather whitelist (on your own email) our domain (as mentioned above).
I received a Wordfence Block – how long is the block and why did it happen?
There are many reasons why you might receive a wordfence block, but the most common ones are below:
- You attempted password reset more than 5 times in a 24 hour period, this results in a 4 hour block before you can try one more time to reset your password.
- You attempted an invalid username 5 times in a row (instead of using your email), this results in a 4 hour block before you can try one more time to log in.
- You are trying to log in from more than 1 platform at the same time. Logins are limited to ONE active login per student, trying to force duplicate logins will result in either a block, or a forced log out of the other logged in sessions.
IF you feel that you’ve reached a wordfence block in error, please use the CONTACT-US form here, to report the block immediately. We will need your name and email, and the date and time AND TIMEZONE you are in, in order to trace the block, and possibly release it.
What if I have questions about a course, lesson or topic?
At the very bottom of the course, lesson, and topic is a place to add a comment. If you have questions or want clarification, or want to call out a point in the video, please add a comment to the bottom of the course, lesson, or topic. We are notified immediately every time you add a comment. It will go through the approval process before being made public. Once approved, your comment will appear – and nearly every time we will respond with a reply. Acceptable content for comments include:
- feedback about your experience in the content
- salient points you wish to highlight for other students to study
- questions you wish to ask about the content itself
- clarifications about the content or statements made in the content
- replies you wish to make to other students questions or comments.
IF YOU ARE STUCK OR NEED PLATFORM HELP – DO NOT ENTER THAT INFORMATION INTO THE COMMENT, instead – use the Contact Us form to drop us a note.
How do quizzes work?
Quizzes are generally attached to the END of a lesson, this would be after the summary topic has been presented. Each quiz is configured to pull at random, a handful of questions from the question bank that pertain to the lesson and topics within the lesson. The quizzes do not offer partial scoring. You either get the entire question correct or you get the entire question incorrect.
Why? We feel it’s necessary to know and understand what you are missing and why. We are testing for comprehension and understanding. The quizzes give you a chance to self-assess and understand all aspects of the lesson and topics presented. When you fail a quiz you should go back to those particular points / videos / topics and watch the videos again before attempting the quiz. This will help with your understanding of the materials.
How can I view past quiz attempts and results?
Easy – on your My Courses (account) screen (which is your main dashboard), click Expand All to expand the courses themselves. IF you have taken any quizzes, then the most recent attempts (up to 5 max) will be displayed with the date and time, and score. By clicking the quiz results link, you can open up the results of the quiz attempts and view your own answers as well as the feedback for the quiz.
How do I retake the quiz?
Navigate to the course or lesson or topic that contains the quiz, then – click on the quiz itself to retake the quiz. You can retake quizzes up to 5 times as long as you have access to the course materials. If you fail the quiz 5 times in a row, your lesson will automatically be marked completed, and you can move ahead in your learning process.
How many Quiz Questions are displayed per page?
We now display only 1 question per page, this increases focus, and creates a similar (but not the same) experience as the practice exam and certification exam.
What happens if I fail the quiz and run out of attempts?
Today the limit is 3 attempts on the quiz. If you fail the quiz all 3 times, your lesson will automatically be marked complete and you can move ahead. You will not be able to attempt that particular quiz again.
How do I progress with instructor led portions of the class?
Instructor led portions of the course all have on-line lessons, topics, summaries, learning objectives and quizzes. You are expected to:
- Attend the instructor led portion of the certification course (when appropriate)
- Log in on-line (here) to take the quizzes from the lecture during the day
This is the only way to enable the practice exam is: complete all quizzes online for each of the instructor-led lessons and topics.
How do I enable the practice exam?
If the course is 100% on-line, then complete all the online quizzes, lessons, topics in the course. This will enable the practice exam.
If the course is blended: part on-line, and part instructor led, then: complete all the online quizzes, lessons, topics in the course, even quizzes for the instructor-led portion of the course. This will enable the practice exam. SEE PREVIOUS QUESTION AND ANSWER (How do I progress with instructor led portions of the class)
How do I mark a lesson complete?
Lessons that have no topics, display a mark complete button both in the header / menu bar, and at the end of the description. This button is greyed out if there is a video to be watched, until the video is played through to completion (all the way through to the end). After the video has completed playing, the mark complete button will be turned green and made available for you.
For lessons that have topics – there is no mark complete button at all. Instead, you must complete all the topics within the lesson in order to mark the lesson as complete.
IF the lesson contains a quiz, you must complete the quiz as well (with at least one attempt) in order to mark the lesson as complete before moving forward.
How do I mark a topic complete?
Topics that contain a video require the video to be watched in full (played through to the end) before the mark complete button is enabled (turned green), and available to mark the topic complete. For any topics with a quiz, you must complete the quiz as well before the topic will be marked complete.
Will marking a lesson or topic complete prevent me from watching it again?
No. As long as you have access to the course, you can watch the videos as many times as you like even after marking a lesson or topic complete.
How do I move forward in my class?
I click a new lesson that I want to watch, and the platform keeps telling me to “complete the previous lesson” first. Why? Some courses require fixed course progression because the materials build on previous knowledge. In the fixed course progression you must mark lessons and topics complete before moving forward to new lessons and topics.
Other courses are free form access and allow you to skip around and watch / complete lessons and topics in any order.
Where can I find downloads for my class?
Each course will display a DOWNLOADS tab just under the progress bar IF the course has downloads for you. The downloads are accessible as long as you have access to the course. PDF downloads will be watermarked with your email address. We also list the file update date, so you can see the last time we altered the file. Watch the file dates to learn when a download has been updated! We may or may not make an announcement in the Announcements area.
SOME DOWNLOADS ARE AVAILABLE UNDER THE SUPPLEMENTALS COURSE
If the Authorized Training Organization (ATO) has promised additional downloads – then you must ask for those files directly from them. We no longer host any additional downloads or custom materials that the ATO provides.
Are the slides available for the course?
Yes, as PDF downloads that are watermarked for you. That said, we retain copyrights and all legal rights to the content, diagrams, and other elements of the slides. If you wish to use the slides – please ask us (fill in the contact us form to make a request). Tell us which slide or set of slides you wish to use, why, and what you want to do with them. Most of the time we can assist you in putting together the correct representation. The slides are NOT for redistribution to others outside this course.
How do I attend my classes?
For the on-line portions, log in to DVAUniversity.com, click on My Account in the menu, and find a course you’ve been granted access to, click on the course then enroll or start the course by clicking on the first lesson. For the instructor led portions of any class, contact your authorized training organization who is organizing the course, and ask them for details. Then, at the end of the lecture day – log in here and take the quizzes to ensure you complete the course electronically on-line.
How do the certification exams work?
The Certification Exam will be enabled on a hosted testing SaaS (software as a solutiuon) platform known as ClassMarker.com. The Authorized Training Organization who enrolled you in this course is responsible for setting up the Certification Exam and your login to ClassMarker. When they setup the Certification Exam, and enroll you in ClassMarker you will receive an email from ClassMarker.com – notifying you of your ability to access the Certification Exam. To learn more about the Certification Exam and it’s availability speak with your instructor or your Authorized Training Organization (ATO). Do NOT contact us about these matters, we will only re-direct you to your ATO or your instructor.
Note: The Certification Exam is Different than the Practice Exam. Read Below to understand how Practice Exams work.
How do practice exams work?
Practice Exams are made available (enabled) when the prerequisite course (CDVP2.1-2B) is marked fully completed. The practice exams are embedded here in the exam course – in the first and only lesson. You do not need to leave this platform to take the practice exam. The practice exam will be embedded here. Practice Exams HAVE A MAXIMUM TIME LIMIT countdown timer, you must submit the practice exam results before the timer expires!!
Pay attention to the timer!!
The full explanation of the Practice Exam, timing, Pass and Fail, Question Types, etc… are found in the “Welcome Students” course, in the New Student Experience video.
Where can I find my credentials after getting certified?
Accredible.com houses all electronic badges and credentials. You should keep your access to Accredible.com yourself, and provide a sharable link to your own certification and badge when requested by recruiters or employers. Note: your credential will be assigned to the email address you used to register for the certification course. To understand how you can keep a running history of all credentials on Accredible.com – read about managing your wallet on Accredible.com
Please note – the instant you pass the certification exam (within a few minutes) you should receive your credentials via email directly from Accredible.com – if you do not, then please talk with your own companies’ firewall / network / email management team. They need to white-list the domain: Accredible.com. Also – it is a good idea to check your own spam and trash folders. Sometimes the email ends up there.
Where can I find a list of upcoming courses or events from each of the Authorized Training Organizations?
Navigate to: https://DVAUniversity.com/event-directory.
How can I participate in the Community?
As of: 20 September 2025, we haven’t quite yet launched. We are nearing launch within the next week or so. When we launch we will send everyone an email about how to register for the community, complete with a URL. Below is a short outline of how to access different membership levels. Once we launch, we will provide direct URL links here – to the membership forms.
Our community is hosted at: https://DVAUnited.com
(until we officially launch you will be met with a login screen requiring your account to already be created)
- Active and currently enrolled students – may use the form (AFTER logging in) to “Request an invite to the community”, which will grant you (the student) a 90 day (3 months) free trial to Pro Membership. You can access everything that the Pro Membership provides. After three months, you can elect to pay for membership on a quarterly basis, and you can choose either Starter Membership or Pro Membership. You can also allow your account to downgrade to Free Membership, however: free members have read-only access to limited areas in the community and after a certain amount of time of inactivity, your free membership community account will be deleted.
- Non-enrolled students that no longer have a login (or were previously certified) have the opportunity to “request an invite to the community” to receive 30 days (1 month) free trial to Starter Membership.
- Everyone has the right to request (as a one-time-offer) access to a Free Membership. The Free Member is restricted to read-only, and can only persist the free membership account for a certain amount of time before it is deleted.
What if my work email changes?
A few things to note: IF you are an active and enrolled student here, then please login here, and update your email address to be your current work email. IF you do not have an active and enrolled student account here, then the only other place you can change your email address is: in the community. Our Community is hosted at: https://DVAUnited.com
NOTE: IF YOU HAVE BOTH an active and enrolled student account here, AND a DVAUnited.com community account, then: changing your email here will not change your email address in the community. These are two separate and distinct platforms. While your community account may have been created with the same email address, they are not synchronized. To change your community email address you must first log in to the community, THEN change your email address there.
What happens when my access expires? Is my account deleted?
Your account will be deleted if you are not actively enrolled in any other group at the time. An approximation of the email you will receive is below.
Dear [first_name],
Your account on DVAUniversity.com has been successfully deleted. You no longer have login access to the learning platform. Any comments made on courses have been anonymized and remain intact. We truly appreciate your participation in our student programs. Thank you for your engagement and for attending class.
Please note: your contact record remains securely in our CRM system and, if applicable, your membership in the DVA Community platform is still active (separate site and login). If you wish to have one or both of those accounts removed as well, please use our CONTACT US form to
submit your request.
If you believe this deletion was done in error, please reach out. While we cannot restore past course progress, we are happy to help address any concerns you may have.
If you have not yet joined the DVA Community, now is a great time to get involved. The conversation continues there—connect with peers, ask questions, and explore additional resources.
Sincerely,
Dan Linstedt & Cindi Meyersohn
