13/10 stars. Absolutely would be recommended!

Starting out the course, I was mostly self-trained in database, data warehouse, and analytics practices. So, I was very excited to learn more formally the Data Vault methodology, implementation, and architectural modeling.

I was blown away by the thoroughness of the instructor’s experience, examples, and material that were provided within the course. I feel like my knowledge as a data professional has expanded exponentially through participation and successful certification as a Data Vault practitioner.

The course was so much more than I was expecting in terms of breadth and scale. Even though the instructors focused and pared down the material to what was explicitly relevant to our business’ use case, they did an amazing job of allowing tangentially relevant and upcoming technologies to permeate the course landscape and materials covered.

It was hands down one of the best courses I have taken, recreationally or professionally. As a data professional, there was so much information that was relevant to my work in the past, present, and very conceivably in the future, that I am still impressed.

In addition to some of the highest degrees of professional excellence I’ve seen or heard of—through the instructors’ personal examples and the organizations they’ve worked with—the course was also punctuated with humor, revelry, and several nerdy jokes.

All of this amounted to what has been the highest-value training I’ve ever been part of, while simultaneously being one of the most enjoyable. I cannot recommend this course—or the instructors, Cindi, Dan, and Scott— highly enough. If you ever get the chance to take this course, I would jump at it.

Leaving this course, I feel so much more prepared to step into the wide arena that comprises the data industry and all of its facets—more so now than I ever have before.

I am truly happy—and, I must admit, a little relieved—to have earned the certification.

This training has been so much more than just a certification process. I have never formally been part of a Data Warehouse team; my role has primarily been as a Database Expert. Over the years, I’ve become quite proficient in data modeling, but I have always wondered why so many teams—often large ones—seem to struggle with building a data warehouse.

Time and again, I found myself asking: How is it possible that we are still reinventing the wheel?
Surely, someone must have figured out the common challenges by now. Your training provided answers to so many of those lingering questions, and for that, I am sincerely grateful.

It was a truly eye-opening experience, and I hope to apply these insights soon in a real-world project. In the meantime, I will continue working through the material, creating flashcards to reinforce key concepts that are applicable across various contexts.

Please extend my appreciation to Dan as well—his foundational work made this entire learning journey possible.

I also plan to adapt the scripts to Oracle, and I have a small suggestion regarding the training materials. If you’re not already using a version control system like GitHub, it might be worth considering. Treating the materials like code—especially by maintaining consistent naming conventions in line with Data Vault standards— could ensure they remain structured, ready for publishing, and easy to maintain.

Additionally, I would love to discuss the possibility of becoming an advocate for Data Vault. I’m interested in presenting key aspects at conferences and even exploring the idea of a GPT-based assistant to answer common Data Vault questions. Since I fully respect the level of care and protection you place around the content, I would appreciate understanding your perspective on these ideas and what conditions might apply.

Once again, my sincere thanks for your dedication and for traveling the world to share such high-quality content. It has been a privilege to learn from you.and all of its facets—more so now than I ever have before.

All of this amounted to what has been the highest-value training I’ve ever been part of, while simultaneously being one of the most enjoyable. I cannot recommend this course—or the instructors, Cindi, Dan, and Scott— highly enough. If you ever get the chance to take this course, I would jump at it.

I’m thrilled to share that I’ve earned my Certified Data Vault 2.0 Practitioner (CDVP2) Certification!

Huge thanks to Cindi Meyersohn for leading this intensive course and making these complex concepts accessible, structured, and engaging.

A special thank you to Armon Petrossian as well, for fostering such a supportive learning environment through the “Agile Data Vault 2.0 Tips” group. This community turned a passive interest into a deeper understanding, motivating me to dive into official resources like Dan Linstedt and Michael Olschimke’s book, “Building a Scalable Data Warehouse with Data Vault 2.0”, attend the Data Vault Alliance Bootcamp, and ultimately earn my certification.

Dan Linstedt’s Data Vault 2.0 methodology brings structure to the chaos of large datasets with elegant simplicity. Its modular and scalable design allows for seamless integration and evolves with business needs—without constant re-engineering.

By focusing on business terms, keys, and processes, the methodology aligns data strategies with organizational objectives. It unlocks transformational potential by allowing dynamic business rules to interpret data—while maintaining the original, unaltered facts.

This makes Data Vault 2.0 not just useful but future-ready. It gracefully adapts to change, integrates diverse systems, and supports a wide range of data management techniques. More importantly, it mirrors the complexity and adaptability of natural systems—showing a deep understanding of dynamic, interconnected data ecosystems.

Dan Linstedt’s work meets several key criteria that align with Turing Award-level impact:
•Major Innovative Contribution: Solves core issues in traditional data warehousing—scalability, flexibility, and governance.
•Broad Influence: Sparked a global movement committed to advancing modern data practices.
•Technical Excellence: Demonstrates agility and architectural strength in real-world applications.
•Enduring Societal Impact: Enables intelligent, data-driven decisions across industries, especially vital in today’s AI-driven landscape.

Thank you again to Dan Linstedt for your visionary and practical methodology, Cindi Meyersohn for delivering the course with excellence and continued support, and Armon Petrossian for leading a truly welcoming and empowering community

I hope my experience encourages others to get involved with learning communities. Often, the journey to deep, certified expertise begins with simple curiosity and passive engagement. You never know where it might lead!
